AMD processor spotted on Geekbench could be the future Ryzen AI 5 340
, by Quentin
An AMD Krackan processor, featuring 3 Zen5 and 3 Zen5c cores, has been discovered following a leak on Geekbench. Currently being tested by ASUS on a validation platform called KoratPlus-KRK, this CPU appears to be a preliminary version of the future Ryzen AI 5 340.
Krackan belongs to the new Ryzen AI 300 series and it features an AMD XDNA2 NPU neural processing unit, also used in Strix Point. This NPU is designed to deliver up to 50 TOPS, which really improves the performance of AI workloads.
The 3+3 configuration observed contradicts previous rumors, which suggested 4 Zen5 and 4 Zen5c cores. The processor tested has a boost frequency of 4.0 GHz, although this may very well change before the final release.
