Geoff Keighley aims to register « The Game Awards” trademark »

The Game Awards will celebrate its tenth anniversary on December 12, and the 2024 edition is set to be packed with announcements. But before that takes place, the event's producer and host, Geoff Keighley, has made an appeal to fans.
An email has been sent asking for the support of Internet users who took part in a Zoom session of the show during the pandemic.
« We are in the process of registering The Game Awards trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). We are seeking letters of support to establish that consumers (that's you!) distinctively associate the term "The Game Awards" with our annual awards ceremony. »
The message also asks for « personal reflections » from fans in order to give more weight to the request that will be made to the American administration. If the process goes through, the term “Game Awards” will become a registered trademark.
