Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP sales far exceeded publisher's expectations
, by Thibaut
Launched last September, the remastered version of Lollipop Chainsaw is probably one of the unexpected successes of 2024.
Extreme, the mother company of the Dragami Games studio that developed the game, has decided to revise its forecasts, pointing to the commercial success of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP as the main factor. Sales have "far exceeded" the firm's initial forecasts.
Extreme has raised its sales forecast to $75.4 million (from $74 million) for the fiscal year ending March 2025. The same applies to net income, which has risen from $4.6 million to $6.9 million.
Sales rose by 5.9%, operating income by 50% and ordinary income by 52.4%. This represents an increase in net income of 52.1%. In its first week of release, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP had already sold 100,000 copies.
The game will be released on PS4 and Xbox One on December 2.
