Warner Bros admits its gaming division is underperforming

David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros Discovery, didn't mince his words about the recent performance of the company's gaming division.

During a conference call organized to review the group's financial results, Zaslav suggested that the gaming division is something of a weak link for the company.

But even in a sector where successes and failures come one after the other, we have to recognize that our studio business needs to be more consistent. This applies to our games business, which we recognize is not quite reaching its full potential at present. “

He also explained that Warner Bros will now focus on four successful franchises. These are Mortal Kombat, Hogwarts Legacy, Game of Thrones and the DC universe.

MultiVersus is not included in this list, as the fighting game has underperformed since its return. It has even been singled out as the main culprit behind a new depreciation of over $100 million for the company.
