Starting on January 1, 2024, Steam will stop supporting the Windows 7 and 8 operating systems

Valve is about to take a small step in its history. In fact, Steam will soon stop working on several old Microsoft operating systems. Therefore, starting on January 1, 2024, the Steam client will no longer be able to run on machines equipped with Windows 7, 8, or 8.1.
Users will need to acquire a newer operating system to be able to access the store and simply launch their games. A choice justified by the fact that upcoming versions of Steam will require security features "only present in Windows 10 (and 11)".
