According to a survey, the development of Just Dance 2023 has been very difficult

As we know, creating a video game is far from an easy path. And history seems to be repeating itself once again at Ubisoft Paris. In an article published by the NME website, we discover the development conditions of Just Dance 2023 in the French studio.
The report, based on statements from several employees, mentions a culture of "mentally and physically exhausting" crisis. The entire pre-production period is described as a "mess". For example, Ubisoft would have burdened its teams with "changing the engine of Just Dance 2023 just 11 months before the release". The staff was already " under pressure" before the actual development began.
The article also refers to almost mandatory overtime that has become the norm in the company. Some quality testers worked from 10 am to midnight (or later), and one employee from 9 am to 10 pm. There was constant pressure from the hierarchy. The teams had asked for a delay in the release of the game, but this request had been denied.
Fortunately, not everything is negative, as the arrival of Marie-Sophie de Waubert as CEO of Ubisoft Paris would have had "a positive impact on the studio".
