Epic Games is now a financially sound company
, by Thibaut
In 2023, Epic Games laid off almost 1,000 people and started a restructuring plan of its workforce. A year later, the American firm seems to have fully regained its financial health.
This is what CEO Tim Sweeney had to say at Unreal Fest 2024 in Seattle.
"Last year, Unreal Fest began with some sad news. The company had to get its financial house in order, and we made significant layoffs. We spent the last year rebuilding and really executing solidly on all fronts."
"I'm happy to tell you now that the company is financially sound, and that Fortnite and the Epic Games Store have hit new records in concurrency and success. Fortnite reached 110 million monthly active users at the end of 2023, an all-time record."
