MSI confirms CUDIMM DDR5 memory support for Ryzen 8000 and 9000
, by Quentin
A new kind of memory is taking shape: CUDIMM. This technology incorporates a processor-independent CDK clock driver, improving signal integritiy and allowing memory manufacturers to go for higher clock frequencies. Some companies even claim to be able to get 9600 MT/s, and some are working on kits to reach up to 10,000 MT/s in the future.
However, this new technology is still to be supported by many. However, MSI has already confirmed that its X870 and X870E motherboards will support CUDIMM, particularly coupled with AMD's Ryzen 8000 and 9000 series of processors.
MSI has also explained that it has made some changes to the design of the memory slots on these particular motherboards to improve signal quality.
