According to Sony, the PS5 has sold 61.7 million worldwide

Like all companies in the industry, Sony has reported their financial results for the first quarter of the current financial year.
Thus, between April 1st and June 30th, 2024, the Japanese company has sold 2.4 million PS5s. In the same period last year, 3.3 million were sold. In any case, since its launch in November 2020, the PlayStation 5 has sold 61.7 million.
Overall, Sony Interactive Entertainment's results for the quarter are positive. Renuves from the Games & Services division were up 12% year-on-year, and operating income climbed 42% to $443 million.
Last but not least, 53.6 million games were sold in the first quarter versus the 56.5 million in 2023. 6 million of these were PlayStation Studios exclusives. Digital sales accounted for 80%, compared to just 20% on physical format. The ratio was 70/30 last year.
