Hidetaka Miyazaki says he hasn't created his "ideal fantasy RPG" just yet

While Elden Ring already has all the makings of the ultimate game for RPG fans, FromSoftware boss Hidetaka Miyazaki doesn't think so.

In an interview with PCGamer, Miyazaki made it clear that his sights are set ever higher.

"I'm still in the process of making my ideal fantasy RPG. While Elden Ring is not quite it, it's pretty close. It's getting close. Every time there's things that go well and things that don't go so well. Taking those bits that didn't go so well this time with Elden Ring and incorporating those and improving those in a future title—that's something I'm really excited for."

It's safe to assume that FromSoftware will keep improving their work in the future.
