The PS5 receives VRR at 1440p and Discord voice chat thanks to its 7.00 update
, by Thibaut
The PlayStation 5 system update 7.00 is now available. It adds the ability to participate in Discord voice chat from the console and expands support for 1440p on a wider range of TVs. Variable refresh rate (or VRR) is also available for this resolution.
Among the minor additions, it is also worth noting that you can request a screen share from a friend's profile, a new icon to join a party chat has been added, a "Friends Who Play" tile is available, and screenshots can be manually sent to the PlayStation mobile app. Additionally, there are some new accessibility options and new filters for the game library.
