Warner Bros. threatens to shut down Mortal Kombat 1 mod creator's YouTube channel

An Australian YouTuber by the name of ToastedShoes, who has more than 800,000 subscribers and specializes in Mortal Kombat 1 mods, has explained on X.com that Warner Bros. could close his channel.

The main party here explains has said on X.com that the publisher has issued a notice of intellectual property infringement and expressly requests the creator to remove all videos relating to the fighting game from his channel. If he fails to do so, Warner will issue a strike for intellectual property infringement, which will result in ToastedShoes' account being deleted.

In several messages, ToastedShoes states that is the first time he has experienced any problems of this kind, and that he is unable to contact the company to contest this decision.

This doesn't make any sense, given that Ed Boon, the creator of Mortal Kombat, frequently shares mod videos on his social networks.
