Pokémon GO has got some visual enhancements and changes to characters
, by Thibaut
Pokémon GO is getting ready for its eight anniversary with a new look. Niantic's title has indeed received some improvements on the graphics side of things.
These changes apply to the appearance of the real world, with the display of buildings, hills and mountains. The scenery will also change according to the biome (beach, forest, city...) where you are.
In addition, the avatar customization system has received a major overhaul. It is now possible to customize your character's body proportions (musculature, weight, shoulders, breasts), skin color, eyes and hairstyle.
Players have taken over the social networks to complain about these changes and the new artistic direction for the avatars. In response to this overwhelmingly negative feedback, Niantic's Community Manager, Kestral Riot, declared that she would pass on all opinions to the development teams.
