Atari is bringing back Infogrames to publish even more games
, by Thibaut
Founded in 1983, French company Infogrames specialized in the development and publishing of video games. It disappeared 20 years after its creation, following its merger with Atari.
Surprisingly, however, Atari has decided to relaunch Infogrames. The company's aim is to publish games that do not belong to Atari. The first license obtained by the firm is Totally Reliable Delivery Service, which was acquired from tinyBuild.
Infogrames manager Geoffroy Châteauvieux made a statement about the acquisition.
"With Totally Reliable Delivery Service, Infogrames is starting off with a strong IP that has a loyal and enthusiastic player base. The Infogrames team will be able to expand upon the strong work of tinyBuild, and re-energize this high-potential franchise."
Infogrames may also turn to older, somewhat forgotten licenses with the aim of resurrecting them.
