EA doesn't understand why Stellar Blade will be available in Japan after Dead Space was banned there
, by Thibaut
Despite the severe censorship going on in Japan, Stellar Blade will be released there as is. This is good news, of course, but it's also unfair to a certain publisher.
A representative of Electronic Arts Japan took it to X.com to criticize the Japanese classification body CERO. He said he couldn't understand why Stellar Blade will be sold there, whereas the 2023 remake of Dead Space was banned.
"The Stellar Blade demo was really fun and absolutely action packed. However, CERO, you denied our Dead Space a rating because it included cross-sections of severed body parts and internal organs, but here we have both cross-sections and insides on display passed off with a CERO D rating. I find this hard to accept."
Note that a "D" rating is equivalent to a ban on sale to those under 17. Dead Space ended up not being rated, making it unavailable in Japan.
