Blizzard is taking action against those who use M & K on consoles

In a recent article published on the game's official website, Blizzard has stated its intention to combat the misuse of "unapproved peripherals" on consoles.

This is all with the aim to punish those who use a mouse and keyboard while taking advantage of the assisted aiming on PlayStation and Xbox. over the last few seasons, Blizzard has been collecting data to measure to which extent this occurs. It seems the majority of cheaters at at high level, while the use of unapproved peripherals is less widespread between Bronze and Platinum ranks.

As a resut, from Season 11 onwards, those high-level players who get caught will be excluded from competitve mode for one week (but can still play, just not ranked). If they get caught yet once again, the restriction will be extended and they will have to exclusively play against other users with K & M for the entire season. And without aiming assistance!

Finally, Blizzard has taken steps to recognize those using non-approved peripherals for accessibility purposes. In the event of detection, the disabled person will still be able to play the game normally and they won't get penalized.
