Star Citizen development nears completion at last
, by Thibaut
More than a decade after the project's launch, Cloud Imperium Games has announced the release of version 1.0 for Star Citizen. It's an almost unexpected announcement, given that the game has been plagued by delays and other problems throughout its development.
Chris Roberts, the studio's CEO, spoke about this future release in an official press release.
"While we recognize that there is no definitive finish line in an online MMO, and that we will always be adding new features and content for many, many years to come, Star Citizen 1.0 is what we consider the features and content set to represent “commercial” release."
Roberts promises that the title will be "welcoming to new players, stable, and polished with enough gameplay and content to engage players continuously".
Despite all this, Cloud Imperium Games didn't give a launch date or period.
