Sony suspends PSVR2 production as sales fail to take off
, by Quentin
It would appear that sales of Sony's PSVR2 are not up to scratch, as the company is currently suspending production of the headset.
This will remain until the company clears its stock. This decision is in line with a report previously published by Bloomberg that indicated a steady decline in sales of Sony's device, which was being surpassed by rival VR headset, the Meta Quest.
The reason for this sales result would appear to be strong competition and an excessively high price. What's more, the cost of developing a virtual reality game is also considerably higher than that of a standard game. As a reminder, the PSVR2 is priced at €599.99.
