Capcom will raise salaries of new employees in Japan

The Japanese publisher is going to take a contrarian stance in a video game industry in upheaval and punctuated by repeated layoffs.

From the start of its 2025 fiscal year, Capcom will be increasing the salaries of newly-hired graduates. Estimated on average at ¥235,000 per month (around €1,443), salaries will rise to ¥300,000 per month (€1,842).

In its press release, the company explains that "with this increase in starting salary, Capcom continues to invest in human capital and the acquisition of exceptional talent".

It should be noted that current employees will also receive an "exceptional payment" during the course of the year in recognition of employees "who support the future of the company".

Finally, all salaries will be increased by 5% in fiscal 2024. In April 2022, Capcom had already implemented a 30% salary increase for all its staff.
