After almost 18 years of service, an artist has been sacked from Naughty Dog

t's no secret that PlayStation laid off 900 people this week. Several studios have lost developers, as was the case with Naughty Dog.

On LinkedIn, a message particularly touched Internet users. It was posted by Santiago Gutierrez who, after almost 18 years of loyal service, was fired from the studio responsible for Uncharted and The Last of Us.

"For me, dedicated years of my live to the company, the sudden an unexpected termination felt like a cruel twist of fate. Faces that had become familiar over training, lunches, walks around the building, parties, chats, jokes and...... long longgggg hours working together, suffering, raising the bar on every single game we made through countless challenges and triumphs is now shattered, leaving behind a void that no farewell email could adequately convey...... yes, my heart is totally broken. Because I do care where I work."

"The sadness in the last two days of my layoff is not just about losing a job, it is more about losing a sense of purpose, a community, a team I love with the bottom of my heart.... a routine that had become intertwined with the fabric of daily life. It leaves you with a profound sense of disorientation and a pervasive sadness that lingered long after your internet is cut, because even in this time you are not allow to say a goodbye on person... "

Santiago Gutierrez is now looking for a new job in the video game industry.
