Respawn Entertainment's FPS The Mandalorian is cancelled and Ridgeline Games (Battlefield) closes its doors

A few hours ago, Electronic Arts announced the layoff of around 670 people. The publisher was also expressing its desire to refocus on its own franchises, and gradually abandon licensed games.
The first project to fall victim to this new policy has just been announced. A Star Wars FPS in development at Respawn Entertainment (Apex Legends, Titanfall) has been cancelled. Unfortunately, the game in question is The Mandalorian, which was the talk of the town on February 16.
However, Star Wars Jedi 3 has not been cancelled and remains in production.
Ridgeline Games, a studio founded in 2021 to create single-player experiences for Battlefield, has closed its doors. Some of the staff will join Ripple Effect. The single-player part of the series will be taken over by Criterion Games.
Finally, BioWare is continuing its work on the next Mass Effect, but is focusing primarily on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, due for release shortly.
