Remedy Entertainment reacquires Control license rights from 505 Games

The first Control was developed by Remedy, but was published by 505 Games. Until now, the two companies shared the rights to the franchise.

This is no longer the case, as the Finnish studio has announced that it has recovered all rights to Control. This includes, of course, the 2019 games, but also Control 2, the multiplayer title Condor (provisional name) and all future projects in the saga.

The studio's CEO, Tero Virtala, stated that "having complete ownership (of the Control franchise) gives us the freedom to decide on the best path forward." The transaction cost Remedy around €17 million.

Finally, Virtala reported that production of Condor and Control 2 has made good progress in recent months. Both games will reach the next phases of development in the first half of 2024.
