Final Fantasy VII Remake's ending has been significantly changed with a patch

On the eve of the launch of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, its predecessor launched in 2020 has received a rather intriguing update. Square Enix has altered a line of dialogue that can be heard at the very end of the game.
Warning: the following contains spoilers about Final Fantasy VII Remake!
In the original version, just after the battle against Sephiroth and having crossed paths with Zack, who is in a parallel reality, Aerith utters the phrase "I miss it... the steel sky" in reference to Midgar's structure, which prevented the real sky from being seen.
Following the patch, Aerith now says "This sky... I don't like it". The scene itself remains unchanged, and the phrase retains a similar meaning. Square Enix has not given an official reason for the change.
Fans believe it's a reference to the prequel Crisis Core, during which Aerith tells Zack that the sky scares him.
