Crazy Taxi reboot will be AAA

Last December, SEGA confirmed the development of five remakes/reboots to be released soon on consoles and PC. Included in this list is Crazy Taxi, a racing game franchise that first saw the light of day in 1999.

This new edition is co-developed by Sapporo Studio, which was founded by SEGA in December 2021. In an article for the Japan Times, studio president Takaya Segawa described the game as a AAA, i.e. a big-budget production.

"“We are also participating in the development of triple-A titles, including Crazy Taxi. At present, we don’t have any titles developed independently by the studio, but we intend to do so in the future."
