Sony says Rise of the Ronin was never scheduled for release in South Korea

Earlier this week, we learned that Rise of the Ronin would not be released in South Korea. The PS5 exclusive's arrival to the country seemed to have been cancelled at the last minute, following a controversy linked to a statement made by its director.

While Sony has since confirmed the cancellation, the brand is now taking a rather surprising position, stating that the game was simply "never officially announced for release in Korea".

Quite the surprise, since Rise of the Ronin had indeed been listed by the local classification agency and the title had also appeared on the South Korean PlayStation Blog.
