Square Enix is planning to review its development process in order to improve game quality
, by Thibaut
Following the lacklustre commercial success of Final Fantasy XVI, Square Enix intends to rethink its creative process. Takashi Kiryu, president of the Japanese company, has confirmed so to Bloomberg.
Kiryu made the following statement.
"We are currently reviewing the organizational structure and the best way to implement the content of our creative process from top to bottom."
Square Enix will provide further information during the spring, and Bloomberg reports that the reorganization will take effect as early as April. The publisher intends to focus on in-house game development, with less systematic outsourcing. In this way, the quality of a project will be judged earlier, and Square Enix should then be in a position to make decisions more rapidly.
