Remasters of older Silent Hill titles could be in the cards
, by Thibaut
The famous survival-horror franchise has finally made a comeback with Silent Hill: The Short Message on PS5. It's a short free episode will soon be followed by a remake of the second game.
On top of this, Konami may be thinking of relaunching the saga's first titles for current machines, or so has been revealed in a recently published interview. It features Rika Miyatani, in charge of level design at Hexadrive, the studio responsible for The Short Message.
We learn that this Japanese firm was initially approached to develop the remake of Silent Hill 2. In the end, Bloober Team were the ones chosen, but Hexadrive is still keen to resurrect other games in the saga.
"Internally, people started talking, and we said, ports would be nice too, but what we'd really like to see is a Silent Hill remade for current-gen consoles".
It remains to be seen whether Konami will hear this message and decide to relaunch other Silent Hill titles on modern consoles.
