For the time being, Tekken 8 devs have no plans to add characters from other licenses

Tekken 8's roster is pretty well-stocked, to say the least, with 32 fighters. A total that will be increased in the near future thanks to DLC and other seasonal content.

During the Taipei Game Show, some fans made a very specific request to Katsuhiro Harada, the saga's director. A player asked for Tifa (Final Fantasy VII) to be added as a playable character, and it just so happens that Harada responded quite clearly.

"We all know she's attractive, and I understand that. But for the moment, we haven't decided anything about adding characters from other licenses".
