Apple now allows game streaming apps on its App Store
, by Thibaut
Apple has just made a radical change to its App Store app acceptance policy.
Until now, it was impossible for a brand or developer to offer an app capable of streaming video games. For example, when it launched in 2020, Xbox was unable to release its cloud gaming service on iOS devices.
However, this restriction has now been lifted. Apple now allows "tnew options for how apps globally can deliver in-app experiences to users, including streaming games and mini-programs."
Put simply, cloud gaming is now possible on iOS. Microsoft and other brands can now "submit a single app with the capability to stream all of the games offered in their catalog."
