Hideo Kojima's OD trailer hides a reference to Silent Hill
, by Thibaut
Before leaving Konami with a bang, Hideo Kojima was working on a new Silent Hill game. It ended up being unfortunately canceled, yet had made a big splash in 2014 with its P.T demo.
In the announcement trailer for his new game entitled OD, the Japanese creator seems to have hidden a direct reference to the survival horror saga. As German actor Udo Kier appears, five letters can be briefly glimpsed, at different times, in his mouth.
Together, they form the word "Atami", the name of a Japanese town. In kanji, the name of the town appears as "静岡". When these kanji are separated, the first means "silent" and the second "hill" (thus "Silent" and "Hill").
It's not yet clear why Kojima chose to include this reference in the video.
