To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Half-Life is free on Steam with all-new content

Launched in November 1998, the very first Half-Life is free on Steam. What's more, an update is now being offered as part of this 25th anniversary.

The graphics have thus been improved, with better lighting and a true widescreen field of view to boot. There's also controllers support, and the game is officially compatible with the Steam Deck.

Four new multiplayer maps make their debut. In addition, content such as the original artwork for the main menu and prototypes from the alpha version of the game have been restored.

Finally, a short film with the development team is included.
