To celebrate its tenth anniversary, DayZ sets a new record for concurrent players

Next month, what started out as an Arma 2 mod will celebrate its tenth anniversary. For this occasion, and for the launch of its 1.23 update last week, DayZ broke a symbolic record.

Bohemia Interactive's title recently welcomed 69,449 simultaneous players on its Steam servers. This is quite simply the highest total since its release in December 2013. A resurgence in popularity that's hard to explain, since the game hasn't welcomed any major new features for some time.
