The number of DayZ players skyrocket with the game being available on PlayStation Plus

DayZ was out in alpha in December 2013 and in 1.0 five years later, and has since seen a surge in interest thanks to the game being included PlayStation Plus this week.

Bohemia Interactive has announced on X that 1.3 million new players have added the title to their library. Of course, that doesn't mean that everyone played DayZ right away. In total, more than 300,000 newcomers jumped into the survival game on the first day of its introduction to Sony's service.

Of course, this caused some connection issues due to this high influx. In addition to the 300 newly deployed servers, more will be arriving soon.
