Despite weighting 122 GB, Baldur's Gate 3 doesn't have preload

These days, it's not uncommon to be able to pre-download a game before its release. It's a handy way of playing the game on release day without the hassle of having to download dozens of gigabytes upfront.

Unfortunately, Baldur's Gate 3 will not offer this famous function. This means that you'll have to download all 122 GB of the PC version at launch, on August 3. And if that wasn't enough, early access saves will not be compatible with the final version.
