Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart affected by major problems on some PCs with a normal hard drive
, by Thibaut
When the technical specifications of the PC version of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart were announced, many were surprised to see that the game was able to run on a conventional hard disk. Let's keep in mind that, at its initial launch in 2021, the title took advantage of the PS5's SSD capabilities to load environments almost instantaneously.
Thus, when testing this opus on a PC equipped with a hard drive equivalent to that of the first PS4, we notice extremely significant slowdowns when opening a dimensional rift. Even with the minimum configuration, the game can simply crash, so SSDs are still more than recommended.
