Nintendo has secured enough RAM to avoid a Switch 2 price increase

This is a contentious issue that gained momentum in 2026 and shows no signs of abating in 2027 or even 2028. Demand for memory chips has skyrocketed recently due to the widespread use of AI in our daily lives. Many tech products have seen their prices rise drastically, and home consoles are no exception.

Nintendo’s president stated that he does not foresee another price increase for the Switch 2. At the same time, a report published by Reuters reveals that the company has reportedly secured enough memory to keep the console’s price steady.

However, the report also notes that rising component costs and a lack of high-profile titles for the Switch 2 have caused a 16% drop in operating profit, as well as a decline in sales, according to analysts.
