The launch of World of Warcraft: Forever went smoothly

World of Warcraft: Forever launched last night, giving fans and those used to pulling all-nighters a great opportunity to enjoy the MMORPG’s new expansion late into the night.

It’s fair to say that launches like this can sometimes be a technical challenge, given how much server performance and management are required. Aside from a few interface glitches in the menus, the community enjoyed a smooth launch without any major issues. There were no random disconnects or unexpected problems, and the queues moved relatively quickly.

Ironically, Executive Producer Holly Longdale even posted on X:

"At the risk of jinxing things, so far so goodish which is crazy by itself. The team prepared a lot since the wildness of Beta. And this launch was crazier than the insanity we imagined but thankfully the team built plans and contingencies. They are incredible imo."

Josh Greenfield, one of the senior designers on Forever, also shared his thoughts: "Thank you all for making this launch such a great and super smooth one. I’m going home to ‘go to sleep’ now. Yeah, I’m sleeping. I’m definitely not going to play WoW Forever until 3 a.m. Not at all."
