GTA VI has a 29% purchase intent rating in the United States

Analyst Mat Piscatella has shared a rather surprising statistic. According to Circana, Grand Theft Auto VI has a 29% purchase intent among console and PC gamers, based on his company’s analytics tool.
Unsurprisingly, this is the highest level ever recorded for a video game, with the analyst going so far as to describe it as a "rare cultural and commercial moment."
"Grand Theft Auto VI represents an exceptional cultural and commercial moment for the video game industry. Players have been waiting 13 years for a sequel to Grand Theft Auto V, and demand is expected to extend beyond game sales to include consoles, accessories, and subscriptions as the release approaches."
In terms of numbers, estimates for digital pre-orders (only) of GTA VI have exceeded 6 million, generating $594 million in revenue, 74% of which is for PlayStation. These statistics therefore do not include those who pre-ordered the game in physical form, nor those planning to take advantage of Black Friday to buy a console and purchase the game from Rockstar.
If Circana’s estimates prove accurate, GTA VI could sell 30 million copies in the United States alone. Such success would hardly be surprising, given that its predecessor, GTA V, remains to this day the best-selling premium game in Circana’s history (both in terms of volume and value).
