Helldivers 2 gets Easy Anti-Cheat on PC and breaks a good number of mods in the process

Although it has been very well-received by players since its release on February 8, 2024, Helldivers 2 is currently facing a wave of negative reviews on PC. This is because Arrowhead Game Studios has implemented a change that is causing a great deal of frustration.

The third-person PvE shooter has just implemented Easy Anti-Cheat as its anti-cheat solution. The developers deemed this integration necessary to block mods that provide in-game advantages. Unfortunately, the addition of the software has not been without consequences.

As a result, mods that apply fixes, custom content, or features to enhance the gaming experience have been broken in the process. Players are now taking it out on Arrowhead by giving the game « mostly negatives » Steam reviews over the past few hours.
