DON'T NOD is even worse now, and enters bankruptcy protection

We have already extensively covered the gradual decline of DON'T NOD. The French company known for Life is Strange, Lost Records, and Jusant is on the verge of closing and had anticipated being able to continue operations only until January 31.

This week, the crisis reached a new stage as the studio filed for bankruptcy protection due to extremely tight cash flow. The goal is to develop a debt restructuring plan for the group and avoid liquidation. As a result, DON’T NOD’s existing debts will be frozen for a period of six months to allow management to find a solution to save the brand. The company’s stock price plummeted 27% following this announcement.

Barring a miracle, we can therefore expect significant layoffs in the coming weeks in order to achieve rapid cost savings. The developer will also need to secure external funding for its projects. Consequently, the company’s continued operation beyond January 31, 2027, is far from guaranteed.
