Half the quest team of CD Projekt RED are former modders

Modding has always played a very important role in CD Projekt RED’s titles. So much so that the Polish studio has drawn heavily from this talented community to build its teams.

During the latest REDstreams episode, Paweł Sasko, the associate game director on Cyberpunk 2, revealed details about the current makeup of the company’s quest team. He noted that about half of the team started out as modders on The Witcher 2 and 3. They were then hired to contribute their expertise to the creation of official quests.

This approach isn’t all that uncommon in the gaming industry, as Bethesda Game Studios has long followed the same practice.
