Steam has launched achievement sets in beta
, by Thibaut
Things are happening over at Steam right now. Valve has rolled out another new feature that improves the overall presentation and organization of achievements. The goal is to make « interacting with achievements on Steam more enjoyable ».
As a result, two types of « achievement sets » have been created. There are those dedicated to rewards that all players can earn through the base game (in blue) and those dedicated to DLCs (in pink). The latter allow players to track progress only on the additional content and are not included in the overall progress if the user does not own the relevant DLC(s). Seasonal achievements may also be archived by developers.
Valve has updated an achievements page accessible from the games list on the web and from games in the Steam library. It’s also possible to view progress, general statistics, or the completion rate for each achievement with the click of a button. Additional filters have also been added for searching. This same progress can also be compared with up to three contacts.
Finally, several sections have been reorganized.
