Assassin's Creed Destiny, a canceled game set in China, is revealed

After Japan in Assassin's Creed Shadows, many players are hoping to see Ubisoft's series explore China. This setting has already been used in the spin-off Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China, and will be featured in the mobile game Assassin's Creed Jade, which is still in development.

However, the French publisher and tech giant Tencent were also working on another title that was unfortunately canceled before production could even begin in earnest. This brings us to Assassin’s Creed Destiny, a game developed by TiMi Studio Group that we can now glimpse through a prototype video dating from February 2025.

Set in 206 B.C., Destiny featured a female Assassin on a mission involving Xiang Yu’s army. The gameplay emphasized stealth, parkour, and combat. Various unique abilities were available, as were entirely original items. For example, the heroine could use a sort of spinning umbrella as a weapon.

The video showcases different environments, parkour sequences, and combat scenes. The assassin attempts to seize an artifact guarded in a temple by Xiang Yu and his troops. Animations also show a male character, suggesting that players could have chosen to play as either a man or a woman.

Ultimately, a restructuring within TiMi Studio Group in January 2025 led to the cancellation of Assassin's Creed Destiny.
