Activision Blizzard Chairman Bobby Kotick expects to complete buyout within 45 days
, by Thibaut
The Microsoft takeover of Activision Blizzard is not over yet. The two companies have decided to extend the duration of their merger agreement until October 18, all in order to find a solution to lift the blockade applied by the British CMA.
Bobby Kotick, who heads the publisher responsible for Call of Duty, said he was confident that the takeover would be completed within 45 days. The much-maligned businessman also told CNBC that his contract as president of Activision Blizzard will expire in April 2024 and that he is prepared to "remain at Microsoft's disposal for as long or as little as they wish".
Finally, Kotick took the opportunity to praise the qualities of Phil Spencer (president of Xbox) and Satya Nadella (president of Microsoft).
