Two Age of Empires' projects appear to have been put on hold due to recent layoffs

World's Edge is one of the studios most affected by XBOX's recent strategic changes. The developer has been transferred to Activision, and about half of its employees have been laid off in the process.

Several now-former employees have announced their departure on LinkedIn. This is the case, for example, with Adam Isgreen, who was creative director at World’s Edge. In his post, he mentions the existence of various projects related to the Age of Empires series. However, these projects appear to have been put on hold.

"We had some great plans for what's next —and I hope the team that remains can rise to the occasion down the line."

For now, the future of the Age of Empires franchise remains uncertain.
