Activision's Halo could be a reboot

The future of the Halo franchise lies with Activision. XBOX has officially transferred the series to the publisher behind Call of Duty, creating a new team to develop the next installment in the franchise.

This decision has, of course, caused a great deal of collateral damage. For example, Halo Studios’ narrative director, Jeff Easterling, was fired after 12 years with the company. Meanwhile, Josh Daniels, who was promoted to cinematic director on Monday, was fired the very next day. From now on, Halo Studios will serve in a support role for existing titles.

In a post on X, the insider @TechnicalHalo, known for having revealed accurate information about the franchise in the past, stated that Activision will be working on a reboot of Halo. It is reportedly a completely new chapter, and the lore established since the saga’s inception in 2001 is not expected to be retained. This information should, of course, be taken with a grain of salt for now.
