, by Thibaut
The next generation of Rocket League will begin next year. Last May, Epic Games announced that the Psyonix title would be going from Unreal Engine 3 to Unreal Engine 6 in the near future.
In a video for the final day of the Rocket League World Championship, Epic revealed that professional players already had the chance to get a taste of the game running on Unreal Engine 6. Additional testing will take place over the coming months to gather as much feedback as possible.
Finally, the developers are even talking about a "complete overhaul" of Rocket League, set to take place as early as 2027.
