The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time ran at 1080p and 60 FPS without DLSS during the Nintendo Direct

This week, Nintendo gave an in-depth look at the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time during a special Direct. It will be released on November 5, 2026, on Switch 2.

Following the presentation, Digital Foundry released a technical analysis of the game. Based on these initial observations, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time ran at 1080p and 60 FPS during the Nintendo Direct. DLSS was likely disabled. According to Oliver Mackenzie, however, NVIDIA’s technology could have made a significant difference in visual quality.

Furthermore, the engine used for the remake may have been developed in-house or by a partner studio. Monolith Soft (Xenoblade) could be behind it. However, it is definitely not Unreal Engine 5.
