Writers' strike could prevent The Last of Us season 2 from airing in 2025

The whole of Hollywood is currently affected by a massive writers' strike, and as a result, much-anticipated films and series have had their releases postponed. Alas, the HBO adaptation of The Last of Us may be yet another victim.

In an interview, Craig Mazin, the series' showrunner, declared that the first episode of season 2 is now fully written. The director also says he has a complete overview of what this second season will be like. Also, Halley Gross, screenwriter of The Last of Us Part II, recently joined the series production team.

Finally, Mazin added that the strikes could push HBO to postpone the broadcast scheduled for sometime in 2025.
