From 2027 in Europe, portable console batteries will have to be easily accessible

While some brands are making efforts in this area, too many devices still make their batteries inaccessible to users. They are then difficult to replace, which generally leads consumers to buy a new product altogether.
According to a document obtained by Overkill, from 2027, the European Union will require manufacturers to design simple access to the battery of all new devices. This could apply to portable consoles such as a future Switch or new Steam Deck models.
